According to IDC, more than 70% of CIOs see their role is shifting from that of an operational officer to Digital Transformation officer/agent of innovation. On September 30, 2017, UNICOM signed a definitive agreement with IBM Corp. to be an early recipient of the IBM z14 mainframe, now installed at UNICOM Technology Park I & II Innovation and R&D Labs in Chantilly, Virginia. This will serve as a hub for the best and brightest of today’s technology visionaries to create and develop in a collaborative environment. In conjunction with these developments in Virginia, UNICOM has created the Technology Intern Partnership ("TIP"). This program provides a gateway for young entrepreneurs to gain exposure to the latest in technology.
