With the launch of IBM® CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) for z/OS® 6.1, Db2® 13 for z/OS®, Enterprise COBOL for z/OS® 6.4, Automatic Binary Optimizer (ABO) for z/OS® 2.2 and Enterprise PL/I for z/OS® 6.1, UNICOM Global customers will benefit from a raft of new features to simplify the creation, deployment and management of enterprise applications, as well as having access to new AI and resiliency capabilities on the IBM z16 platform.

New IBM product highlights
IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 6.1 provides a foundation for application modernization and delivers increased developer productivity, with enhanced Java support; improved security and compliance management; and lower running costs
IBM Db2 13 for z/OS introduces embedded AI to uncover hidden insights within Db2 databases; exploits AI and machine learning technology to improve operational efficiency; and increases resiliency and performance when used with IBM z16
The Enterprise COBOL for z/OS 6.4 compiler and Automatic Binary Optimizer for z/OS 2.2 both optimize hardware utilization on the z16 platform, while Enterprise COBOL also provides simplified COBOL/Java interoperability that makes it easy to extend the capabilities of COBOL programs with Java
The Enterprise PL/I for z/OS 6.1 compiler adds support for the IBM z16 architecture and delivers new and enhanced features to assist modernization of PL/I programs and integration with new web-based applications
