UNICOM® Acquires Visual and Unified Communications Solutions Business Unit

Expansion of North Carolina presence includes mission-critical, secure communications solutions for government and commercial customers

2014.06.30

Herndon, VA – June 30, 2014 – UNICOM Government, Inc., a Division of UNICOM Global, today announced that it has acquired a North Carolina-based, leading provider of Visual and Unified Communications solutions to government and commercial customers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition, of the organization originally founded as Sigcom in 2007, includes the MultiClassS3® patented secure switching technology powering sensitive systems throughout government and commercial installations. The North Carolina facility, which includes an integration center and logistics operation, staffs an in-house lab for the design, test and integration of audio, video, voice and presentation technologies.  The facility also includes a 24x7 call center for continued solutions support.

UNICOM Global’s founder, president and CEO, Mr. Corry Hong, said that this latest acquisition by UNICOM strengthens its ability to deliver full, mission-purposeful solutions to government and commercial organizations.

“This acquisition expands our presence in the high-tech corridor in North Carolina, with patented technology built into turnkey solutions for government and commercial installations,” said Mr. Hong.  “This unit will work closely with both our UNICOM Government and commercial divisions to continue to do more than merely ship OEM products, rather to offer complete solutions, designed, built, installed and maintained from one trusted partner.”

Through the transaction, UNICOM immediately becomes the leading provider of high-definition Video Teleconferencing, Unified Communications and Digital Signage solutions. The MultiClass S3 solution is a critical element for Federal defense agencies, is DISA Certified and EAL4 approved, and meets NSA and JITC requirements, including COMSEC/EMSECcriteria. The solutions are in broad use in various agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard.

UNICOM’s latest transaction continues the Company’s focus on delivering on its mission of “Putting IT All TogetherSM”. Through a revolutionary process pioneered by its founder of Progressive Integration™, where each acquisition of technology, talent or channel strengthens and expands the entire organization, UNICOM Global is today one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world.
